Problems with home heating fuel systems

Natural gas and propane burn cleaner than fuel oil, and most gas furnaces present fewer operational difficulties than oil burners do. In fact, the problems that affect gas furnaces typically involve the furnace's thermocouple, the pilot light, or some component of the electrical system.

Look for your problem, and solution, on the handy chart on the next page.

  1. Thanks for sharing this post! You provide a lot of useful information. Having to get your heat fixed can be especially troublesome. While money can add up, sometimes fixing the problem can take a lot of time. I've also had my fair share of bad and rude repair men. But, I was fortunate and found a reliable and reputable heating service in NYC. Not only were they friendly but they fixed the issue quickly and it wasn't overly expensive.
